Ambition
This pub has been part of the Falmouth pub scene for decades. It sadly closed and the new owners had a vision for a traditional pub with modern values. A quirky, cosy pub with a real focus on food. With amazing harbour views as well, this was a great project for inspiring clients.
Solution
We retained as many of the original features as possible while adding texture and details to enhance the building. The pub is not a big space so clever design ensured that it worked both operationally and still gave spaces to relax with a pint or dine. Quirky found pieces of artwork give an eclectic ‘collection’ feel and add a bit of fun to the design.
Results
The Star & Garter, as with all of our projects, was an amazing opportunity to work with talented, passionate people. The team at The Star & Garter had a clear vision of what they wanted the end result to be; we are proud to have met their expectations.
The restaurant has a swathe of accolades and awards including ‘Best Foodie Pub in the South West’ and runner-up for Best Sunday Roast in the Observer Food Monthly Awards, and an ongoing listing in the Good Food Guide.
