Absolute have been working with the hotel since its inception 15 years ago. Our team were responsible for the hotel and its F&B offering interiors as well as its brand. In 2020 during covid we were tasked to think about the next 15 years for the hotel and it felt time to refresh the interiors which had really stood the test of time.

Our brief was to redesign the ground floor hotel suites and rooms. To develop the existing brand – a beautiful, Art Deco, Miami-inspired hotel on the North Cornwall coast. To balance seamlessly the interiors and branding, the serious with the playful, a luxurious coastal retreat. 

The Solution

The St.Moritz hotel was an opportunity to explore the rich depths hidden within a simple colour palette which really resonates with past Miami art deco design. The primary colour of white unifies each room of the hotel whilst the pronounced shades of blues, yellows and greens gave each room its own unique character.

Results

A limited colour palette does not suffocate an interiors potential. Instead, the design is bright and has a real holiday feel. The simplicity of the design respects the stunning location and views and allows guests a sense of escapism from their day to day lives.
