Show Home Holiday Vibes.
A home away from home, this show home has all the holiday vibes anyone could want. In true Mykonos style, we layered a mixture of natural soft furnishings, relaxed beach-style furniture, and soft lighting to create that perfect laid-back luxury look.
This relaxed, laid-back design perfectly enables its occupants and visitors to unwind, simplify life, and focus on a much-needed spiritual escape from reality.
Keeping up with the trends
As a design team we are always conscious of trends, especially when it comes to fashion.
We have definitely noticed a want for rattans and nature-inspired materials of late. Rattan is a curious case; it has made a full comeback in recent years and yet has been around for years, dating back to ancient Egypt when historians believe that the sturdy grasses that grew along the Nile River were used to make baskets, trunks and more. Rattan was woven to provide the elite classes with chairs, tables, and more, so it is perhaps not surprising that it has returned to popularity once again.
In truth, the popularity of this design style has never really gone out of fashion… at least not with us here at Absolute!
Going back to basics
A sense of place and identity is essential for anyone designing a show home or project. Starting off with the surrounding landscape, we always aim to reflect that throughout the interiors and overall ‘feel’ of the finished space.
Organic shapes, textures, and an earthy colour palette is at the heart of this look. This show home was about maximising the view whilst keeping the interior fresh and light to mirror the water’s soft blue tones.
Taking inspiration from the Cycladic whitewashed architecture in Mykonos, we adopted the blank canvas approach and filled it with texture, just like those authentic local Greek houses.
With a brand-new development like Cliff Edge, this blank canvas was a perfect starting point for us to work with. This show home knows exactly how to sense escapism and captures the laid-back rhythm of that Mykonos vibe we wanted to create within.
We mixed rural details with contemporary surfaces, and all elements of nature are visible in the show home. Rustic furniture, plush linens and unique materials exude understated elegance and a feeling of total relaxation.
