The Mendip Inn

If you’ve ever been to the Mendips, you’ll know that it’s a stunning area of outstanding natural beauty. No pressure on us then to create something similar for the Mendip Inn when the remarkable Rossi Brothers took over!

They were after ‘a country slash gastro feel with a twist.’ As you can imagine, that’s exactly the kind of quirky interiors brief that gets us salivating (almost as much as the Rossi menus!) So after some serious brainstorming we settled on a ‘country heritage that doesn’t take itself too seriously’ theme and our master design team, came up with some real beauties.

We discovered funky faux deer head trophies and animal ‘portraits’ on trays and had lots of fun mixing contrasting materials and colours across the concept. Subtle wallpaper finishes sit alongside stripped timber beams, feature chairs upholstered in faux leathers couple with others in lush tartans whilst slate flagstones meet together with geometric tiles. We mixed in electric blue radiators and lamps against neutral walls and injected simple light dining furniture married with white-washed walls and ceilings help to open up whatwere originally dark and un-inviting areas.

“In a word Absolute has delivered, ‘stunning’,” says Jon Rossi, joint owner of the Mendip Inn. “They have completely transformed the Inn providing a fresh, contemporary approach to a traditional pub environment, weaving in fabulous detail and some daring touches to make this a truly unique establishment. It’s totally Mendip!”

As you can imagine, we’ve rewarded ourselves with a couple of pints of Somersets finest Cheers!
